Government Indonesia Indonesia became an independent state on August 17th 1945. It is officially designated the Republic of Indonesia.
Indonesia is a republic with a president at the top. Indonesia has a concept of guided democracy. The president has all the power, the function of the parliament is to agree the legislations put forward by the president.
Indonesia is governed by a Consultative Assembly. They meet once every 5 years and elects the president who is head of the government as well as head of state. The assembly has 920 members appointed by the provinces and special regions of the country. There are 460 members in the parliament, with 360 of them elected and 100 appointed by the president.
Indonesia has three special regions and 24 provinces, with one governor per province. Each province is subdivided in regions with a regent on the top.
Bali
Bali is one of the 24 provinces. Bali is subdivide in 8 regions; Badung (with the capital of Denpasar), Jembrana, Buleleng, Tabanan, Gianyar, Bangli, Karangasem and Klungkung.
